Known and used since 350 B.C. propolis is a resin-like substance harvested by honeybees when hive building from the buds of poplar and cone-bearing trees.
An active ingredient in propolis known as caffeic acid phenethyl ester (CAPE), has a broad spectrum of biological activities including antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.
